MARCH 2011
A great atmosphere at the Top-Eventers-Sales-Days 2011
During the first weekend in March, the first real spring sunshine this year lit up the indoor arena for the presentation of the collection of Top-Eventers, which had been chosen by Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless for this year’s Top-Eventers-Sales-Days. The top quality of the talented horses had attracted many eventing supporters to Elmar Lesch’s Riding Center in Bavendorf. The sellers as well as clients enjoyed the occasion and the relaxed atmosphere.

The horses were initially ridden and presented in small groups, after which interested clients had the opportunity to try out the rides that interested them and benefit from Elmar Lesch’s expert advice. The international clients in particular, took advantage of the opportunity of viewing a whole collection in one place and during the weekend proved to be in a spending mood! On Saturday a number of horses changed hands and will be leaving Germany and on Sunday a further 2 followed. The Top-Eventers GmbH was happy with the outcome of the weekend at which the German clients were also well represented.

The collection of 18 Top-Eventers entered the indoor arena at Elmar Lesch’s riding center in Bavendorf, perfectly groomed and ready for their photo and video shooting. Once again the skilled team of grooms and riders gave their best and both the cameraman and the photographer were able to capture persuasive images of all the horses on sale. You can see the official presentation of the 2011 >Collection on our website.
Our photographer Thomas Ix also took a look behind the scenes to capture the atmosphere of this particularly busy day. The result is some very interesting backstage impressions, including amusing snapshots as well as wonderful photographs of our aspirants and we decided it would be a pleasure to share them all with you.

FEBRUARY 2011
Top-Eventers ready to compete at either this year’s Junior Championships or the National Championships for Young Horses
Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless have put together a top selection of nearly 20 eventing horses for this year’s Top-Eventers-Sales-Days. There are promising youngsters as well as tested performers and each of these gems will be presented to clients at the Sales Days on 5th & 6th March 2011 at Elmar Lesch’s Riding Center.
The collection is particularly interesting for up and coming young riders whose ambition to ride at Junior National championship level may just be fulfilled in 2011. The rides which took part in the Championships for Young Horses last year and others with placings up to CCI* level are capable of opening the gateways to success for their young riders.
The 4 and 5 year olds in the collection are especially interesting for professional riders and ambitious amateurs. Elmar Lesch is convinced he has discovered some very talented youngsters who have the potential to qualify for the 2011/2012 Championships for Young Horses.
The list of horses for sale will be published in the next couple of days and shortly afterwards details of breeding, photos and short videos will be available online.
During the week coming up to the sales days it will be possible, by appointment only, for potential buyers to put the horses through their paces at Elmar Lesch’s Riding Center. On both days of the sales the horses will be presented in small groups, after which they can be tried out by clients.

Elmar Lesch’s Riding Center will be opening its doors again on the 5th and 6th March 2011 for the 2nd Top-Eventers-Sales-Days, the weekend sale for eventing horses. A diversified collection of around 20 horses is currently being put together by Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless and will be presented for sale, to interested clients, in Bavendorf, near Lüneburg on the first weekend in March.
The range includes 4 year old youngsters and experienced eventers, riders of all ages and ability will be able to find the horse most suited to their needs.
Last year at our first sales, there was a lot of interest shown by both breeders and clients and the Top-Eventers GmbH was delighted by the very positive feedback it received. Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless have already received numerous national and international enquiries regarding the next sale. If you are interested in putting a horse up for sale, the closing date for registering is 15th Feb 2011.
Some of the horses from the collection at last year’s Top-Eventers-Sales-Days immediately went on to perform successfully with their new riders, this included taking part in the 2010 Championships for 5 + 6yr old horses in Warendorf. The gelding, “Orlando” from Ostermond xx, which was bred in Bavaria and sold to the United States came 2nd at the US Championships for 4yr old Eventing Horses. This year’s collection also promises to offer not only horses with placings, suitable for juniors wanting to move up to the next level but also horses suitable for international sport and of course promising youngsters.
Elmar Lesch is well known for his ability of putting the right rider on the right horse and the long list of riders who have trusted his judgment can be compared to the “who is who” of eventing. Parents who would like to help their talented children on the road to success should make a special note of the date of the sales in their calendar.

March 2010
Not even ice and snow could stop the 1st Top-Eventers-Sale in Bavendorf from being a success
During the last couple of weeks it had started to look as if the snow was finally going to disappear and give spring a chance. However a change in the weather resulted in heavy snowfall on Friday night, which made the journey to Bavendorf on Saturday no fun. The conditions on the roads and the fact that some of the motorways were closed prevented some visitors from getting there at all.
However Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless are both more than happy with the results of their first weekend sale. “We have been having about 1000 visitors per day on our website since the collection was first announced. Many clients, who were interested, rang straight away and fixed a date to try out a horse before the actual sales."
Both professional and amateur riders showed interest in the total of 22 horses on offer. One horse will be travelling to the USA; two are going to Switzerland and one to Sweden. One of the young horses was bought by the sponsors of a previous Olympic female rider. Clients who had previously bought at The Top-Event-Horse Auctions, also found something suitable at the sale at Elmar Lesch’s Riding Centre.
Elmar Lesch is optimistic for the future, “With the Top-Eventers-Sales we have created a second platform our clients, which enables them to find a suitable horse at the very beginning of the season. The high quality of the horses offered has the same importance at the sales as at the auction. The success of Top-Eventers previously sold via the auction has prompted us to stick to our policy of high quality. There can be no discussion about quality and we are not prepared to accept a compromise for either the auction or the sales. The horses included in our premiere collection are proof of this, several full siblings to horses which were successful at the German National Championships for 5 and 6 year olds and eventers with high placings in International events, what more could you wish for!”
